NZ Trout -Justine Palmer

Inspired by the Tongariro River and Justine Palmer’s love of fly fishing, Rainbow Trout captures the beauty and movement of one of New Zealand’s most iconic freshwater fish. Each piece reflects the quiet connection between nature, the river and the thrill of seeing trout rise at sundown.

After graduating with a New Zealand Diploma of Art and Design in Whanganui in 2020, Justine has developed a distinctive practice in cast glass, inspired by New Zealand’s flora, fauna and landscapes.

Each trout is handcrafted using the lost wax casting process, creating rich detail and depth. Designed to hang on the wall, every piece is individually made, with subtle variations in colour and pattern that make each one unique.
